Research & Analysis
Identifying Problems & Evaluating New Strategiesresearch

Do we know everything we need to about your lake? Are there any gaps in our knowledge that will make it hard to decide on a management strategy? If so, you may need to consider conducting some basic research and analysis to fill those knowledge gaps.

On the other hand, maybe you're just interested in trying something new. The internet is full of new strategies and products that promise to make your lake beautiful. Some of these are promising new ideas, but many are not nearly as effective as their slick marketing suggests. Before trying something new, you should consider evaluating it on a small scale. Such an evaluation will allow you to test-drive a new strategy before trying it on the entire lake.

We love exploring new territory. In the past few years, we have conducted research on carp impacts to aquatic plants, characteristics of lawn runoff from near-shore properties, and the use of lake-wide herbicide treatments for controlling invasive plants like curlyleaf pondweed and Eurasian watermilfoil.
